Ireland has become one of the most efficient producers of animal products in the Europe. In this presentation, Mr Simon Coveney, in the context of the conflicting and competing challenges of the increasing global demand for agriculture production and concerns regarding the impact on climate change, will outline the approach which Ireland is taking to significantly expand its agriculture production, through ‘sustainable intensification’ while balancing economic, societal and environmental benefits.
