William Martin是国际粮食政策研究所的高级研究员，也是国际农业经济学家协会的前任主席。马丁最近的研究主要集中在粮食和贸易政策以及粮食价格的变化对发展中国家的贫困和粮食安全的影响。他的研究还探讨了主要贸易政策改革的影响，包括乌拉圭回合、多哈发展议程和中国加入世贸组织对发展中国家的影响；气候变化对穷人的影响；以及发展中国家农业生产力提高的影响。
William Martin is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute, and Past-President of the International Association of Agricultural Economists. Martin’s recent research has focused primarily on the impacts of changes in food and trade policies and food prices on poverty and food security in developing countries. His research has also examined the impact of major trade policy reforms—including the Uruguay Round; the Doha Development Agenda; and China’s accession to the WTO—on developing countries; implications of climate change for poor people; and implications of improvements in agricultural productivity in developing countries.
